Leila Hail has been a qualified RGN since 2001, she qualified from the University of Brighton having completed a four year BSc in European Nursing and Spanish language, and this included an exchange placement to northern Spain.
Since qualifying she has gained extensive clinical experience in departments such as Accident and Emergency, Hepatology including Liver transplant, general medical, hepatology and burns intensive care units, Infection Control and during her spare time works for a private company that provides medical cover on film sets and large public events such as festivals, music concerts and sporting events including the London Olympics.
Leila currently works as a Clinical Nurse specialist in Infection Control at University College London and has successfully led and completed projects assigned to her. She has particular interests in CBRN preparedness as well as reducing the risk of invasive device associated infections and has recently been involved in designing a documentation tool intended to prompt clinicians in evidence based practice, in order to minimise the risk of infections.
